Chaminda Hettiarachchi

Chaminda is a university lecturer and a researcher on strategy, technology management and social sciences. While based in Sri Lanka, he works on multidisciplinary regional issues in South Asia and Europe. He is a co-founder and director of FabLanka Foundation (GTE) LTD. FabLanka aims at bringing about educational and economic changes in Sri Lanka while minimizing environmental impact through the digital fabrication revolution. The goal of this cooperative is to develop fabrication labs at strategic locations throughout the island. Chaminda is an internationally recognized expert in technology management. Having specialized in strategic management, project management and ICT, he has two decades of experience working in the industry, consulting and the academia both in Sri Lanka and overseas. He served as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka prior to joining as Associate Director at Regional Centre for Strategic Studies (RCSS). He has participated and presented papers in many international conferences and forums. His current research interests involve the role of ICTs in human development, power decentralization and governance.
